Pink Floyd & David Bowie Album Covers
Two Legendary Album Covers in a Private Music Studio
Christine and I were in a band together, and when she mentioned wanting something special for her music studio, I suggested stained glass windows based on iconic album covers. We went back and forth on candidates and ultimately chose The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and Aladdin Sane by David Bowie as the inspirations for the pieces.
Technique:
Traditional lead and glass with solder.
Dimensions:
30 × 60 cm each.
Glass Types:
Flat glass, multi-coloured pieces, and mirror.
Color Palette:
Black and orange are the predominant colours across both pieces.
Special Features:
The incredibly complex lightning-bolt streak from Bowie’s Aladdin Sane persona (often linked to his Ziggy Stardust era), which required some of the most difficult cuts in the piece.
Location:
Installed as a companion pair of windows in Christine's music studio.
“David created two stained glass windows for my music studio. Album covers of Bowie and Pink Floyd. I absolutely love them! He kept me involved at every step. I'd recommend him to anyone.”
— Christine Haworth Staines
Interested in a Commissioned Piece?
Each commission is a collaboration. If you have a story, space, or idea you'd like to bring to life in stained glass, I'd be happy to explore it with you.
